Well things were against me this week as far as getting on the bike and riding, mainly Phil wasn't able to take BJ for the bus so that means I have to drive to work... Its ok it happens but I will get back to the routine soon...
So because of no riding I got off my butt and did the treadmill for 45 mins first night it was a good session of jogging for 35 mins and burning some serious fat... finished off with 20 squats.
Next night 45 mins again did some intervals and uphill finishing off with 50 squats, 50 push ups (Not full ones) and 50 dips.... burnt some serious cals again.
Saturday arrived and I did a session with the wii fit... downside is that I am now obese again because I have gained 4kg but not for long. Had some fun with the wii should do it more often its amazing how you do get up a sweat ...
Yesterday it was off to the Anzac Marches x 2 with BJ with his school was so very proud of him and his whole school on how they conducted themselves... it was so hot though to be wearing blazes... 33 degrees a couple of the kids fainted.
Got home about 1pm and did some housework and decided at 4pm to go off for a walk went over the hills reached my turn around spot and decided to go further so the walk ended up 6k , the hills are certainly a good workout and 520 cals were burnt.
I think people would find me rather amusing with me dancing along the road sometimes when a particular tune on my blackberry gets me jigging along.. but all in fun. The mountains certainly looked beautiful.... the boys came looking for me in the car I think they thought I was lost... but the concern was really appreciated I sent them on home so I could finish my walk.
So the good news is that even though I didn't ride I certainly did something so lets hope the scales do something to show for all the effort....
Today it will be the tready again and some squats etc just to keep the momentum going... isn't it great to have a day off to enjoy ourselves...
thanks for reading if there is anyone out there...
back to wheels hopefully this week if all goes to plan... another long weekend coming up and I can't wait.

A Sunday ride
Well hello
Back again... yeah well I did get out for a ride this morning had so much to do today so opted for just a 20 k ride.... doesnt really matter how far you go as along as you go... does that make sense... well thats ok if you don't but thats my way of thinking...
So off I headed it was a little cool but I soon warmed up... you know we had a lot of rain earlier in the year and I truly appreciate all the rain, but the roads didn't.... so many pot holes and they are like canyons and boy is fun missing them especially with the road bike because there ain't any suspension just your butt..... since our labour leaders decided in their stupid wisdom to merge councils our area just doesn't exist anymore the roads are truly bad... oh well not much point wingeing but I shall next time I do see a councillor in town.. which isn't very often.
Anyway back to the ride it was a glorious morning this morning and I do live in such a beautiful area... so really I couldn't ask for better.... except the stupid neighbour next door continually overtakes me only leaving about 6 inches room bloody terrifying... if I see him in town too I will have a quiet word... I am sorry but its really annoys me there wasn't another car coming so why not go out a bit and give us both some room. I know my bike isn't registered as I hear often if you don't pay for the road you shouldn't be using it... i truly get sick of hearing that... I do pay rego for 3 vehicles, car, ute and cattle truck and I figure I am entitled.... plus I have joined bicycle qld which covers me for any liability to other vehicles plus accident insurance.
Now where was I yead potholes yep mentioned those now what about the road kills yeah... poor hares... such silly lovely creatures but are continually getting hit on the roads very sad.... so its advisable not to breathe in when passing the odd hare or fox who have passed on.
The only thing that really frightens me is what do I do if I meet a snake... I mean do I run over it and hope it doesn't flick back and get me or do I hit the brakes and end up splattered on the road or landing on top of it.... one wonders I suppose I really won't have the answer for that until I actually have met one..
Riding with someone is what I really would love to do.... anyway the ride this morning was great I reach my 10k point which is a property where we have sold a bull so the lovely folks where there with their cattle in the yard and invited me in for a look see. Nice people. So I had a break before heading home well about 30 minutes actually. Bit hard to talk to them and see them as my glasses kept fogging up. Headed back home and met a car coming the other way with flashing lights behind him was four cyclists all in identical gear obviously competing in a ride event.... further again and another lot came along they all said hi as they went past which was really good.
I was struggling at this point as a good wind had picked up and I was riding into it.... the ones going the other way had the tail wind lucky them.... got to my road and pulled up as their were two marshals showing the way for the cyclists and had chat with them. It was a challenge ride for anyone 100k from Peak Crossing to Mt Alford and back again... doing a big loop. I admire them so much having the conviction and fitness to do such a big ride. ... When they come down the hill near our road they clock up about 90k... it such a huge hill not many ride up it its too bad its called heartbreak hill by the school kids. One local rider hit a roo coming down the hill one day he was a mess I believe he is recovering but I just don't like to even think about how bad that could be.
The fastest I have come down a hill near home is 45k... and thats fast enough for me.... I do brake so I don't go too fast.... I know I am a bit of a wimp but thats life and thats me.
Got home a ride that shouldn't have taken 40 mins max had taken me 1 hr 30 mins... oh well the chats contributed to that... but thats fine.... I am a friendly sort and its all about enjoying my ride .
Arriving home my brother in law was here he is the one funding our trip to England in June... Philip came up and showed concern I knew he would be worried because he always checks the time and knows how long it takes me... to ride to work or home.
We weighed our cattle for the shows to see how the steers are progressing with their feed etc... then we walked all over our paddocks and I needed to take some photos for someone who we brought a bull from... so I am really stuffed now sitting here writing this but a good feeling because i know I got off my butt and did something today... so now all i have to do is keep it up tomorrow...
Not happy with myself I have to lose more weight photos still aren't looking good and England is looming... when we weighed the cattle today Philip jumped on the scales he has lost another 5kg... when see what he eats and what I don't I wonder how come.... I know he works hard around the place but he must be thinking about his weight these days as I don't know what he eats when I am at work.. whatever he is doing its working he is now 96.5 and I don't think he has ever been below 100k since we have been together.... well done my dear man.
I know where I am failing I am not drinking enough water.... and I am not doing enough cardio... do we ever have a chance in our lives of not having to worry about this anymore.... I know its a lifetime change I have made and I won't go back... but geez sometimes it would be nice not to have to think about it....
cheers....

Its been a while...
Oh I remember that first ride so well.... I fell off and you know something you think I would have learnt by now not to lock those cleets in until I am moving forward comfortably.
Last week on my ride I fell over again... this time I did damage dear Dolce my bike... off to the shop next week to get the gear lever put back into the place it should be... the gears still work and the brakes do too.... just thought I better get it checked out. My bike has done just over 700k now... doesn't seem much does it... but I just love it.
I love the freedom it gives me I do my best thinking when I am riding I just feel so free and happy hooning along the road. There is nothing I like more exercise wise than riding my bike I just wish there was someone else to ride with me at times I think it would be amazing to ride in a group. I am contemplating putting a sign up in the windows in town asking any other women around who would like to meet socially for a ride to get in touch with me.... socially is the important issue as far as insurance goes I believe. Will I get the courage to do it this week... I wonder I have the signs done just need the courage to do it.
Its getting cool now and I am dearly hoping to buy a bike trainer for inside soon... I am keeping my eye on one on ebay just hope I can find the funds. I want to keep riding as much as I can to keep my fitness up.
My other passion is boxing it such a great cardio exercise and I do so enjoy it. On tuesday nights I go down and do circuits and we always do some boxing as well, my boxing and walking buddy is Rita she is great we really do box well together. She has been my buddy for a couple of years now and we know each other pretty well. We had an awesome leg workout at the circuit on Tuesday night I could barely walk the next day... then I rode on Thursday that last hill into town nearly killed me again my legs just hurt so much but I made it again.... twice now that hill hasn't beat me and it will never beat me again.
I have been slack Ineed to get up and move more riding a couple of times a week and one night of circuit aren't enough to get the weight off... I need to apply myself once again. Yet again is never really stops having to keep working out and watching food... but I am never going back to the way I was I was so miserable..
Would dearly love to lose another 10 kg before going to England but I know its going to be hard unless I really apply myself again. I want to be able to enjoy myself over there... not pig out but just enjoy the odd treat. I have checked the motels out they do have gyms so I hope to use them ocassionally to keep myself on track . I do plan a lot of walking.
I wonder if anyone will read this I am sure I have lost my followers.... if you do thanks for the support...
So its back to blogging and keeping myself accountable... good or bad I must write it here and be honest with myself in the process.
Hopefully a ride in the morning thats the plan... lots to do tomorrow some cattle need to have their first wash, floors, bathroom and kitchen need their weekly dose of a good clean. However. I need to have time for me and a ride would be it maybe Rita might be up for our walk tomorrow over the hills thats a killer those hills get me every time but I think its more the pace she likes to go that kills me I know I can get over them but at my own pace... so I let her go ahead and catch up at the top... at least I get to the top.
take care.... more tomorrow... will report in on my day and what I have achieved or not achieved...
